The Jackson Park Golf Association (JPGA) is committed to fostering professional development and community impact through our dynamic internship program. Designed for students seeking hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, urban development, community outreach, and legal research, the JPGA Internship Program offers a structured, engaging, and meaningful opportunity for professional growth.

All About the JPGA Internship Program
general internship

JPGA’s general internship provides students with opportunities to contribute to impactful projects while developing leadership skills in a collaborative environment. Interns will gain hands-on experience across various disciplines, ensuring well-rounded exposure to nonprofit operations and community initiatives.

They will be assigned to committees and work in areas such as:

  • membership engagement

  • ​grant procurement

  • ​media relations

  • business development

  • marketing

  • invitational tournaments

  • scholastic and STEAM programs

  • an African American golf exhibit

  • special projects including collaborations with the Obama Presidential Center.

Internship Opportunities
Partnership with Educational Institutions

JPGA seeks to collaborate with colleges and universities to connect students with these unique internship opportunities. We welcome discussions on the process for sharing internship opportunities with students, the possibility of students receiving academic credit for their participation, and the necessary steps, requirements, and credentials needed for JPGA to qualify as an approved internship provider.

Legal Researcher Internship

The legal research internship at JPGA is tailored for law students eager to gain practical experience in legal analysis, policy review, and nonprofit governance. Interns will contribute to JPGA’s community-driven mission while honing their legal skills in a real-world setting.
 
Legal research interns will work in the following key areas:

  • Conducting legal research and preparing memoranda on issues relevant to JPGA’s mission and operations.

  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, policies, and regulatory documents.

  • Supporting governance and compliance efforts for nonprofit operations.

  • Gaining insights into community development projects and the legal aspects of social impact initiatives.

Collaboration with Law Schools

JPGA is eager to establish partnerships with esteemed law schools in Chicago and beyond. We hope to offer this legal research internship as part of a law student’s academic or experiential learning program. We welcome the opportunity to explore ways of aligning the internship with law school curricula and pro bono initiatives.

caddy manager internship 2025

As a Caddy Manager Intern, you will oversee the daily operations of our caddy program, ensuring smooth logistics, providing mentorship, and fostering a positive experience for both golfers and caddies. This role is perfect for motivated individuals looking to build leadership skills and gain real-world experience in golf management, hospitality, or youth development.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead & Organize – Manage caddy schedules, assignments, and evaluations to maintain an efficient and professional operation.

  • Enhance the Golf Experience – Ensure seamless caddy services during tournaments and member play, delivering top-tier customer service.

  • Mentor & Support – Serve as a role model and leader for young caddies, reinforcing work ethic, professionalism, and sportsmanship.

  • Safety & Well-Being – Conduct regular course patrols to provide caddies with water/snacks and ensure their security, especially in less visible areas.

  • Payroll & Administration – Oversee and distribute weekly caddy payrolls, ensuring smooth financial operations.

  • Be a Problem-Solver – Quickly assess and address challenges that arise on the course, demonstrating adaptability and leadership.
